Newsletter 2

Welcome to our second newsletter!

Spring is upon us, and the distinctive aroma of wors on the barbie is once again starting to linger in the evening air. Make sure you are ready for this summer with your favourite braai equipment. We now stock an assortment of CADAC equipment to use with your existing equipment, such as barbeque grills, skottelbraais, pizza stones and lifters, rib racks, paella pans, and roast pans and stands. We even stock CADAC cylinder adaptor hoses.

We also stock a variety of traditional potjies.

Of course, you would need the best wors for the perfect evening with friends, or to treat the family. Our traditional wors and chutney wors remain bestsellers, but Norman surprises us all every now and then with sosatie wors. Grab a tray when you see it on the shelf.

New stock
While our new shipment is being processed, we have managed to share an "emergency" container with a few other local importers. (Yes, in Perth quite a few people seem to regard Flings and Cheese Curls as emergency supplies. We should have enough of these to last until our next shipment arrives.)

To help clear the shelves in preparation for the new stock, we have discounted several items. Some biscuits, including Lemon Creams, TucJolly Jammers and Whirls, have been marked down to $2.90 per packet.

Please drop in to see what other bargains there are to be had.

Koeksisters: After receiving numerous requests, we now also stock Sophie's Choice koeksisters, in addition to the Just Cakes koeksisters.

Events page
We have added a separate page to this site where customers can advertise forthcoming events free of charge, as long as the event has a South African connection. South Africans enjoy supporting each other, and this is the ideal place to advertise events where we can all meet up again.

Our “Cookies and More” connection
A substantial selection of our products are now sold through Cookies and More in Malaga. While you are there, you would might also like to stock up on their products.

You will recognise many of the products they supply to the top coffee shops in Perth; these products are available Cookies and More at wholesale prices.

Donations for Jordan Pittaway
In last month’s newsletter we reported on Jordan’s recovery, and asked for donations to help his family. Jordan is an 11 year old boy from Zimbabwe who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor was removed earlier this year, but the family was left with enormous medical bills.

We are delighted to inform you that the donation tin next to the cash register in our Duncraig shop has yielded a total of $487.25, which will be sent to Jordan’s parents shortly.

The tin in our Clarkson shop is almost ready to be emptied and counted. We will keep donation tins in both shops until the end of the year, and we will keep you informed of Jordan’s progress, and of the amount raised in our shops.

We welcome your comments
As always, we would like to receive your suggestions and comments on how to improve our products and service. We would also like to hear your views on the newsletters.

Until next time
Norman, Margie, and the African Heritage team
